# Satchel and item sound sources

What the satchel and its contents sound like: things taken up and stowed,
cartridges by the handful, a bigger satchel slung on, things picked up and
put down inside it, dressings torn and wound on, and a ration opened and
bitten. [`src/item-audio.ts`](../../../src/item-audio.ts) layers them into
each cue; a trauma kit's catch is the chests' `chest-case-latch`. Every
recording here is trimmed from a Freesound upload released under
[CC0 1.0](https://creativecommons.org/publicdomain/zero/1.0/) (public domain).
[`scripts/build-item-audio.py`](../../../scripts/build-item-audio.py) holds
the exact cuts: it trims each segment, mixes it to mono at 48 kHz or less,
normalises its peak to -1 dBFS, fades its ends and encodes Ogg Vorbis.
